One of the best things about living in Southern California is the endless list of things to do and places to explore. Here are just a few of my favorites.

FOOD REVOLUTION DAY 2012
Hey everyone in LA, today is Food Revolution Day!
That means people are standing up for REAL FOOD! The Food Revolution LA Ambassadors are hosting an event at the Santa Monica Farmer’s Market all day. They will have a Kids’ Kitchen and chef demos. For more information, visit their site here.
Cabazon Dinosaurs
Made famous by PeeWee’s Big Adventure, these dinosaurs make a fun little pit stop on the way to Palm Springs.
FILManthropy Festival 2012.
This weekend, The FILManthropy Society will hold their annual film festival at Bergamot Station. The organization promotes bringing attention to the overlooked social issues of the world through the amazing, far-reaching medium of film. A group of great people come together to produce this festival each year. Please help support them and the causes they’re promoting.

Big Foot Lodge West
Great atmosphere and rumor has it that the decor was given to the owners after ‘Yes Man’ movie makers created the ‘set’ as an homage to the original Big Foot Lodge in Atwater Village. And did I mention that happy hour runs until 9pm every night and the bakery next door delivers empanadas?

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway
The trip to the top is a beautiful one, but it will keep you on your toes. Riders get a 360 degree view of their accent up San Jacinto Peak - and a chance to practice their balance as the floor of the tram rotates beneath them. At the top, scenic views, hiking trails and primitive camping await.
Getty Villa
Like the Getty Museum, the Getty Villa’s grounds are every bit as impressive as the art inside. It’s the perfect place to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve
It’s a tough year for the poppies following less-than-normal rainfall. The day was still gorgeous though and the setting incredibly peaceful.
Calico Ghost Town
On my to-do list for this summer.
